The Pentucket Arts Foundation is over 300 members strong, with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Our members authentically represent our community, and include parents, grandparents, business leaders, educators, engineers, artists, graphic designers, musicians, writers, accountants, health care providers, and finance specialists. Most, but not all, members live in the Pentucket region, consisting of Groveland, Merrimac, and West Newbury. We have enlisted the fine and performing arts students from the Pentucket middle and high schools as an integral component of our growth and sustainability.
Our mission is to promote excellence in the Fine and Performing Arts throughout the Pentucket community with quality visual art, music, dance, and theatre experiences. We believe in the power of the Arts to transform lives and are dedicated to enriching the Pentucket School District through arts education and by creating opportunities to make the Arts more accessible to all Pentucket students and residents.
The Pentucket Arts Foundation's mission is threefold:
To enhance arts education in the Pentucket School District
To bring together the district's three communities--Groveland, Merrimac, and West Newbury--by offering a diversity of shared cultural experiences in music, theatre, movement, and visual arts.
To foster a relationship between local artists and the students and teachers of the Pentucket schools.
A little more about us
The Pentucket Arts Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization formed on May 5, 2003 under the original name "The Pentucket Fine and Performing Arts Foundation" (PFPAF). Active community members, business leaders, and concerned parents of the Pentucket Regional School District spearheaded the organization. Growing concerns over the lack of resources available for arts programming coupled with recognition of the tremendous artistic talents within the Pentucket school system and a desire to extend quality arts programming into the community has generated steady support for the non-profit association. The Pentucket Arts Foundation was founded on the belief that all artists need audiences and that creative thinking leads to a better future.
“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”
--Joseph Chilton Pearce
